Doing the job right since 1958

The term "modular", as it relates to construction, seems to have a somewhat negative reputation. Perhaps early modular homes deserved the bad rap: they weren't especially well-built, and it showed.

The fact is, modern modular homes are equal in quality to conventional "stick-built" structures, if not better. The same 2x6 framing, the same name brand materials and fixtures typically used in conventional construction are also found in modular.

One principal difference lies in the fact that they are built indoors, under controlled conditions. There's never a weather delay. There's never a piece of material that's not supposed to get wet but does anyway because it rained or snowed at the wrong time.

Another is that the manufacturer, DeLuxe Homes of PA, Inc., follows strict quality inspection procedures. If something is wrong with a house, it gets fixed before it leaves the plant.

Still another (perhaps of greater significance than many realize) is that modular homes are actually considerably stronger than conventional homes. They have to be rigid enough to withstand being transported by truck several hundred miles to your site. That means that once it's placed on its foundation, it is already stronger than an identical house built on-site by conventional contruction.

The homes pictured here and elsewhere in these pages are but a small sampling of what is availiable. Ranch, cape, Victorian, duplex, even hotels are all available in a variety of styles (garages, decks and breezeways optional).
